I’m a lifelong sufferer of multiple chronic conditions that significantly restricted my ability to have a healthy and happy lifestyle. So when I reached the end of my rope and asked my doctor for a medical cannabis prescription, it was like the most frustrating miracle in existence.
While it worked better for reducing my symptoms than ANY other medication I’d ever had, it also didn’t behave as advertised and I had to fight to get the results I wanted. And while the professionals in the industry were caring, they didn’t really have much more to say than “everybody’s different, figure out your own fit by yourself”. Which I felt was an unacceptable thing to expect out of someone who’s been exhausted by decades of suffering.
So I proceeded to use the $500 work start-up fund that ODSP issues once a year to its clients to enroll in cannabis courses… Lots and lots of them. I took every course I could find and then proceeded to use that knowledge in my own kitchen to fix my very real issues… And it worked.
I dug at the mountains of cannabis research until the way the plant interacted with the human body made sense.
Then, I wrote out a list of all the questions I’d had when I started my cannabis journey and made informational graphics to answer those questions in a respectful way.
I then assembled these graphics into a collection that was ready to publish, but realized that the information I’d given was absolutely useless… unless it came with ways to actually apply them to your real life.
So I curated a list of my most delicious and versatile recipes and tacked them onto the graphics to create my first book, Practical Cannabis.
Everything I have done, from my books, to the DIY kits, supplies, and resources. All the way down to the bong protection and tote bags are to help people have a happy, healthy, and smooth cannabis experience. Once without shame or stigma.
Because the right dose size feels like a good day and nobody deserves to feel ashamed or uncomfortable for using the medication that allows good days to happen.
