Irina Swain

Vibrant colours and a mix of techniques presented in a collection of beautiful artwork.

I’m a Russian/Canadian artist, born in Novosibirsk, Russia in 1983. Currently living and working as a freelance artist and mother of two beautiful little kids in Chatham, ON, Canada.

Irina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from A.D.Kryachkov Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design, and Arts.  (Novosibirsk, Russia). Later she continued her art education and studied under John David Anderson (Barrie, ON, Canada) and Joo Young-Geun (Seoul, South Korea).

In her work, Irina Swain uses watercolors, acrylic, and oil paints and enjoys combining different techniques to be used in painting landscapes, portraits, still life of realistic nature, as well as abstract impressions of life. Some of her earlier work included drawings and sketches done in graphic pencil and ink. Her latest passion is creating mixed media art that can combine many different mediums and technics. Her paintings have unique beautiful voice demonstrating the hand of the maker. Her colours are vibrant and her techniques are clean and detailed. There is also a big variation in her painting styles from loose and relaxed brush strokes to sharper and refined details in objects she is describing in her artwork.

You can find examples of my artwork on display in local galleries in Canada and privet collection around the world.
