Hello! My name is Sherrie Piens.
My passion in life is my family, art, floral designing, gardening, and bringing new life to items found around me.
When I do art, it takes me to a whole new and different world of peace and tranquility helping me to transform my inner self onto paper, or canvas, or into the items that I find around me.
I have painted art for many years off and on, between working and raising a family. I have worked in oils, watercolour, acrylic, alcohol ink, and paper collages. And now that I am retired, i can get back in to doing what I love (other than my family time).
I am a self-taught artist, but I have taken a couple of art lessons in watercolour and acrylics to help me grow.
My artwork has been shown at the Leamington Art Gallery, Cultural Centre in Chatham, The Mary Webb Centre in Highgate, the Wallaceburg Art Gallery, and at Art & Heirloom Shoppe in Chatham.
I like to grow by challenging myself by going out of my comfort zone, as terrifying as it is for me.
One of my challenges is doing Plein Air, and the other is doing commission pieces, which I have conquered both. Well, for the most part. I joined a group of wonderful artists doing Plein Air to help me grow in this field of art. They make it look so simple but me being a perfectionist, I find it very hard to do, but I will press on and learn the tricks of the trade. I just need to loosen up and not worry so much about detailing.
Being able. toepress myself through art is such an honour for me. Having someone purchase one of. mycreations is the icing on the cake, and is greatly appreciated.
