“Jenny. We need to hurry up. We don’t have much time.” I looked up to the blood red sky, the heat from the sun scolding my skin as we attempted to make it out. I wondered if there was anyone left. Anyone at all. Oh, what I would have given just to see her smile again. To feel her hugs again. She was gone, and I feared that the end was an inevitable abyss. In every breath that I took, I could feel it growing closer. Inching towards me. Coming to swallow me whole.
